Vodacom could lose control of Congolese unit as dispute rumbles on

South Africa’s Vodacom Group may lose control of its wireless unit in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bloomberg reports, after a local court ordered its shares be confiscated to settle a long-running financial dispute with a consultant. Earlier this month Vodacom was ordered to pay former consultant Moto Mabanga USD21 million after losing a court appeal over a so-called ‘success fee’ dating back to 2008.
