Telenor inks five year overhaul deal with ZTE

Telenor Pakistan has selected Chinese vendor ZTE to conduct a five-year network extension and upgrade programme. The deal will see ZTE install a total of 18,000 network base stations, broken down as follows: 1,500 GSM stations, and complete replacement of 7,500 existing stations, 7,000 HSPA and 2,000 Long Term Evolution (LTE) stations. Construction will begin later this year, and will last until 2017.
