Etisalat ‘eLife’ subscribers reach 400,000

Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) has announced that the number of subscribers to its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service, known as ‘eLife’, has crossed the 400,000 mark, Emirates 24/7 reports. Etisalat completed the deployment of its fibre-optic infrastructure in Abu Dhabi in April 2011, making the city the first capital in the world to be entirely connected to a FTTx network. ‘Reaching this key customer milestone is a validation of eLife’s status as the UAE’s favourite home solution for multi-play services,’ said Etisalat’s chief marketing officer Matthew Willsher at the Broadband MEA 2012 Conference, adding: ‘Since its inception over two years ago, eLife has enabled customers across the Emirates to optimise the benefits of FTTH through high value packages and high broadband speeds.
