Chinese equipment and network solutions provider ZTE Corporation has signed a contract with MTN Nigeria, a subsidiary of South Africa’s MTN Group, to expand and modernise the operator’s GSM/UMTS networks. As part of the agreement, ZTE will help MTN Nigeria upgrade and extend its mobile network in two of the country’s regions (including eight states) by providing its SDR-based Uni-RAN solution.
