The Japanese cellular operator Softbank Mobile passed the 30 million subscriber milestone during August, ending the month with 30.14 million customers. Softbank remains the market’s fastest-growing operator; it added 217,000 net new users in August while rival operator KDDI added 161,900 net new customers to take its total base to 35.89 million, and market leader NTT DoCoMo attracted 81,200 users to see its customer total reach 60.63 million
