Ericsson selected for Indosat modernisation plan

Ericsson has been awarded a three-year contract by Indonesia’s second largest telecoms group PT Indosat, as the latter looks to modernise its network infrastructure in the capital Jakarta to meet growing demand for mobile data services. Indosat president Harry Sasongko confirmed that the group is looking to upgrade both its radio access equipment and core network to boost both speed and coverage for end users. ‘We are always looking for new ways to offer a better service to our customers and become the leading cellular broadband provider in Indonesia,’ Sasongko said during the contract signing last week.
