2K Telecom inks MoUs with Huawei, Eximbank

2K Telecom, a Romanian WiMAX operator currently participating in the country’s ongoing auction for Long Term Evolution (LTE)-suitable spectrum, has reportedly inked memorandums of understanding (MoU) with Chinese telecoms vendor Huawei Technologies and financial institution Export-Import Bank of China (Eximbank), according to ACTmedia.eu. The contract was signed by Mihai Alexandru Voicu, Romania’s coordinator for the China-Central and Eastern Europe Cooperation Programme, Mihai Alexandru Voicu during a recent visit to Beijing.*While the majority of the bidders involved in ANCOM’s spectrum auction are already prominent presences within the domestic wireless market, 2K Telecom is something of an unknown quantity.
