The pan-Caribbean mobile operator Digicel has announced the completion of a project to integrate the network of recently acquired Haitian cellco Voila, which is also known as Comcel, with its local unit. Digicel Group bought Voila from US-based firm Trilogy International in March this year, and has now successfully combined the Voila network with the infrastructure and systems of Digicel Haiti. At the end of June this year market leader Digicel Haiti claimed around 63% of the country’s wireless subscribers, while third-placed Voila accounted for 17.7%, according to figures from TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database.
