CMRI adds another LTE partner

China Mobile, the world’s largest cellco by subscribers, has continued to drum up vendor support for China’s home grown 4G technology, Time Division Long Term Evolution (TD-LTE) with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the China Mobile Research Institute (CMRI) – the cellco’s research and development arm – and US-based chipmaker Aeroflex. TM World reports that the pair have agreed to cooperate on the testing and verification of LTE functionality and performance as well as the development of a number of LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) technologies such as enhanced inter-cell interference coordination (eICIC) and uplink multiple input, multiple output (UL-MIMO)
