The BusinessMirror newspaper quotes Dan Ibarra, the head of Home Companies marketing for Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), as saying that the firm’s broadband division will generate earnings of PHP25 billion (USD594.8 million) in FY 2012. Ibarra was referring to PLDT’s myBro, myDSL and PLDT Fibr services which are now grouped under the collective umbrella of the PLDT Home brand. The official is quoted as saying that whilst a year-on-year comparison is unavailable – given that the various products were only consolidated this year – the group is confident that PLDT Home’s recently launched fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service, branded PLDT Fibr, will help to drive growth by differentiating the carrier from other broadband access providers.
