DTAC pays unprecedented USD320,000 fine for service failure

Thailand’s second largest mobile operator by subscribers DTAC has agreed to pay a THB10 million (USD320,000) fine to the National Broadcasting and Telecoms Commission (NBTC) for a 65-minute network outage last month which affected around 7% of its users. The fine, which is additional to compensatory airtime/data voluntarily offered by the cellco to its users, the face value of which it expects to reach THB300 million by the end of this week
