XL Axiata poised to sell 8,000 telecoms towers, report says

Investment news portal Kontan.id quotes Hasnul Suhaimi, the president and CEO of Indonesian mobile operator XL Axiata, as saying that his firm is looking to sell 8,000 of its telecoms towers for approximately IDR14 trillion (USD1.47 billion). XL Axiata currently owns and operates around 10,000 mobile towers and according to Hasnul, if the plan is realised, the cellco will hire back the use of the towers once they are sold to a third party.
