SCM reportedly eyes Ukrtelecom stake

Local newspaper Kommersant reports that the controlling shareholder of Ukrtelecom, the Austrian company EPIV, is in talks with SCM Holding over the sale of a stake in the Ukrainian incumbent. SCM already owns fixed line operator Vega and has 42.5% stake in the cellco Astelit, which provides services under the life:) brand name. In a phone interview with Bloomberg, SCM spokesman Anatoliy Yevtushenko said that the company is aware of the possible sale of the Ukrtelecom stake but could not comment on ‘hypothetical deals’.
