Israeli fixed line incumbent Bezeq has confirmed plans to invest billions of shekels in the upgrading of its fixed line infrastructure, with the operator outlining plans to replace its copper wire network over the course of the next five to eight years. According to Globes Online, Bezeq aims to roll out a fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network, with investment for the project to be approved in stages, depending on its ability to deploy the network coupled with customer demand.
