Lebanese newspaper The Daily Star reports that state-run telco Ogero has begun the latest batch of upgrades to DSL broadband exchanges with the announcement that an additional 60 locations would receive local access speeds of at least 1Mbps by early January 2012. Ogero’s director general, Abdel Mouneum Youssif, said the work covered areas including Kfar Zeina, Ehden, Tannourine, Samar Jabeil, Mairouba and Douma. The news follows Ogero’s mid-December announcement that a clutch of 43 exchanges were to be upgraded immediately to 1Mbps speeds
