Paraguay receives two bids for MNP management

According to local daily La Nacion, Paraguay’s Comision Tecnica de Portabilidad Numerica (CTPN) has received two bids from companies interested in managing the country’s mobile number portability (MNP) database, namely Spain’s Informatica El Corte Ingles and Ericsson del Paraguay, a local offshoot of US firm Telecordia. Francisco Gutierrez, spokesman for the CTPN, has indicated that the service could be up and running by November, pending a swift resolution to the decision-making process.
