The Serbian government has set up a working group to develop plans for the installation of a national broadband network. According to the Serbian Times, the group has been tasked with defining the role of the state-owned telecoms infrastructure in the development and operation of the network, as well as establishing regulatory conditions to ensure its sustainability. Plans for the new network first surfaced last year following a roundtable discussion chaired by the nation’s telecoms regulator, the Republic Agency for Electronic Communications (RATEL)
