Real estate group Solidere is planning to provide businesses and residential premises in Beirut’s central district with a fibre-to-the-building (FTTB) triple-play network offering 100Mbps broadband internet access and IPTV. With parts of the direct fibre network already in place, the full potential of FTTB can now begin to be realised thanks to Lebanon’s recent upgrades to international and domestic internet connections, according to a report by The Daily Star which quotes speakers at a launch ceremony for the project, titled ‘Smart Connected Life in the Beirut Central District’
