The Hungarian telecoms industry watchdog the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH), yesterday confirmed it has received five applications from companies wishing to secure frequencies in the 26GHz band. The regulator says it will begin reviewing the bids – from Magyar Telekom, Telenor (formerly Pannon), GTS Hungary, Hungarian Electricity Works (MVM) and Vodafone – from today. The regulator announced the tender in November 2011, through which it is offering 26 blocks of spectrum in the 26GHz band – suitable for 3G and 4G mobile services
