Thai cellco DTAC says it will launch a commercial public Wi-Fi wireless broadband network of hotspots in Bangkok and other areas next month following a one-month free trial period, and intends to introduce nationwide Wi-Fi access in September via a THB400 million (USD13 million) investment. The cellco, which has thus far lagged behind rivals in providing Wi-Fi facilities to augment mobile data services, is currently offering pre-commercial Wi-Fi access at 27 department stores in Bangkok this month
