On 1 January T-Mobile Hungary launched a commercial 4G network based on Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology in the capital Budapest, covering around 40% of the population there. Available initially in ten districts, the cellco is enticing users to sign up by offering a discounted monthly fee in the early part of the user’s contract. The decision to launch a commercial 4G service follows a three-month network trial to test the new mobile broadband service using more than a hundred residential, SME and corporate users
