Five companies have signed a contract with the Taipei City government to deploy a total of 3,000km of fibre-optic cable over the next four years. According to Focus Taiwan, the five companies, led by Tai Tung Communication Co., aim to offer high speed broadband access to 80% of the capital’s residents by 2015.
