Minister of Transport and Telecommunications Pedro Pablo Errazuriz, has announced the launch of fixed number portability (FNP) in the Arica region of Chile, the first province in the country to receive the technology. Implementation of FNP will continue in stages through 2012, with subscribers in Santiago next in line to benefit from portability, in March next year, whilst the remaining provinces will gain access to the service in subsequent months
