Korea IT Times reports that Internet Space Time (IST) and Korea Mobile Internet (KMI) have recently submitted bids to acquire an operating concession with a view to competing against the three existing cellcos in the South Korean market, namely KT, SKT and LG Uplus. Unlike their well-established rivals, IST and KMI both say they plan to provide voice and data services based exclusively on WiBro (a South Korean version of WiMAX).
