StarHub announces 4G launch in CBD

Singapore’s second largest telecoms operator StarHub has announced plans to launch its commercial 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) in the city state’s Central Business District (CBD) and Changi Airport this month. Bloomberg quotes the carrier’s CEO Neil Montefiore as saying that his firm, which lags behind rivals SingTel Mobile and M1 which have already launched LTE commercially, as manufacturers start unveiling their new 4G handsets. According to Montefiore the rollout costs over two years will be ‘marginal’ and will support the operator’s ‘stable’ profitability.
